Today Mike is talking all about the mindset behind what makes a successful company work.

One of the biggest problems that Mike has found in not just cleaning company owners but business owners in general is the lack of total responsibility over their business. A lot of people like to look at all of the external things going on and from there decide what they think will or won’t work. Thinking things such as ‘That won’t work in my business, My company is different, my customers/employees wouldn’t like that’ etc. can only hinder your business and peace of mind.

The way you decide to think about and your company and your situation tends to decipher how you feel about life in general. It’s a good habit to form to start trying to rewire your brain to think more positively. At the end of the day, the good parts and the bad parts of life will be there no matter what. How you perceive and deal with them is really what is going to set your company apart. A lot of times when people look at their business and find something that isn’t working they like to point at other things, but everything about your business is just a reflection of yourself.

The most important part of growing your company is always going to be committed. If you took someone who had a ton of credentials but no commitment, anyone average Joe would be able to surpass his company. Many times people will be too scared of failure to allow themselves to change and grow, and they may look at people more successful than them as lucky, but the reality is that you just didn’t see the hard work that that person had to go through to get where they are today. For instance, you may look at Mike as a super genius who just has life figured out, but in reality, he has just made bigger mistakes faster, and is just looking to help you grow past those mistakes for yourselves.

No one has the power to influence what happens to them all the time, and the only thing that you really have complete control over is how you respond to the things that happen to you. Instead of focusing on something you have no control of (all of the negative things that are happening to you) it’s better to focus on what you do have control of (How you respond and deal with those things.) There will always be a lot of reasons why you think that you’ll fail, but until you take the step and decide that you are committed and that you will deal with any problem that arises, chances are you won’t be able to grow.
