Hello Cleaning Nation! Mike Campion here with Carla who started Clean by Carla Jean on September 16th, 2019. She worked for a corporate company for twelve years and quit to follow her dream of being an entrepreneur.
Carla’s Decision
September 16th, 2019 was a huge turning point in Carla’s life. She had a nine year old at the time and her accounting job demanded fifty-nine hours a week. She had enough and decided that she was going to make her business work no matter what. That is when she started Clean by Carla Jean in Kinderhook, NY.
Carla’s Question
Carla is wanting to change the name of her business and doesn’t know how to re-brand her business. When she first started her business she was very professional but feels like the name does not reflect who she is. The name of your cleaning business is very important because your name is what helps people know what you do. Most people name their business based on themselves but your clients care more about them and what you can do to make their life better. Don’t get me wrong; you can be successful with a name that is about you but it will make it much harder.
Will People Care if you Switch your Name?
The truth is that your current clients won’t really care if you change your name. Sometimes we spend way too much time worrying about what people will think when the truth is they really aren’t paying much attention. When you change your name, you want to focus on something that is clear about what you do so future clients will be drawn to your company. One tip I have about finding the name for your company is to not focus too much on making it perfect. Anything that goes from something about you to something about them is great.
