Episode 263 – How to Get More Commercial Accounts the Right Way
Today we’re talking with Nick Dreeszen with ACS – Affordable Cleaning Solutions!
Nick wanted to know the answer to a pressing question many of you have out there Cleaning Nation. How could he go about getting MORE commercial cleaning accounts? It is a simple question with a whole lot of answers.
There are dozens of ways you can go about getting more commercial cleaning accounts. At the end of the day though, you want to find a way that is scalable. The biggest mistake cleaning companies make is by investing all their money in client-getting methods that cannot be scaled.
The obvious one is you going around, knocking on doors and cold calling businesses. This can be a great strategy when you’re starting out, but what about later when you are serving 30+ clients? You need a different strategy. You cannot be the entirety of your marketing and sales department.

Speaking of sales department, that is another critical mistake so many cleaning entrepreneurs make. Don’t focus on building out a sales department and investing all that time in training a dedicated sales staff. Look, you can certainly grow a cleaning company this way but it is a painful method. You might spend months training them on the intricacies of networking, cold calling, and constructing profitable cleaning contracts only to find out that they suck! That is a huge time suck and financial suck that can be totally avoided.
So what is the right way to go about attracting more commercial cleaning clients?
By adding value to them.
You can do this by creating a simple website to act as a “landing page”. Then you will want to buy ads that send targeted traffic to that landing page. On most paid traffic platforms (i.e Facebook, LinkedIn etc.) you can target specific businesses that are your target niche. You will want to create an ad that speaks to their pain point. When they come to the landing page, you should have what is called a “lead magnet” that entices them to give you their email.
Once you have their email, you start building a value-first relationship with them.
This means you don’t immediately go up to someone and ask them to marry you. Or in this case to be your cleaning client. Instead, you send them valuable emails about how a good cleaning job can lead to a better work environment for their employees and cause them to be more productive. You keep sending these value-first pieces of content to them and eventually when they’re ready to switch cleaning companies, your cleaning company will be the obvious choice for them.

You might be thinking… how can I create so much content?!
It is not about looking for new ideas. I spend about one hour per week and from that one hour I created over twenty pieces of content. It costs me a little bit of money to do, but in the end it is worth it. I’ve built an entire content creation system to power my marketing machine.
You can do the exact same thing yourself to start attracting more high end commercial cleaning clients on autopilot.
