Episode 556 – How to Actually Get Cleaning Jobs from Social Media!
Here’s the problem I keep hearing Cleaning Nation: you feel that everyone is doing great on social media, but every time you try, you just end up wasting a bunch of time or money. You don’t know what to say or how to do it. So today we are going to solve that. We will talk about how to actually get cleaning jobs from social media.
The Why:
There is a cost to ignoring social media! Ignoring social media is not an option. That is where the conversation about your business is happening and is going to happen. If you ignore the conversation, then you don’t have a say on how the conversation goes. It can easily go the way you don’t want. If you are not on social media you will be missing a ton of opportunity to serve, provide value, and get cleaning jobs, since everyone or almost everyone is on social media.
The Fear:
You know you can get on social media, you just don’t know what to do. It feels like it’s going to take you forever. Every time you’ve tried it before, it’s been a big waste of time and money. You’re afraid that you don’t have what it takes- you don’t know how to give or what to give as content. You don’t know what to say and how to do it. You believe that you have to be good on camera, you have to be quick on your feet, you have to speak well, etc. This is what runs in your head and is preventing you from growing! You have to stop this belief!
The How:
To do social media right, first, you have to get rid of the belief that you have to chat a bunch in other people’s posts or comment and everything. The reality is, you have to know who your target customer is, what their pain is, and where they go to solve it. Then you try and give them real value.
Hint:
Find out what their pain is. They always want to feel a certain way, and the service that you provide can help them feel that way. Effectively communicating to them is also important.
For example, “You want your business to be financially secure”. That’s okay, but if I said “I’ve been there, I had a $50k payroll due on Friday with $28 in the bank on Wednesday. I know what that feels like”. See the difference between communicating your pain? “I want to be financially secure” is true but It wasn’t communicated effectively!
Tips on Making Content:
- You can invite experts and share their value.
- Have your clients share their success stories.
- Have your perfect prospect share their frustrations.
- Have your employees share their opinions and ideas.
- Share stories of your personal growth.
To Sum it Up:
You know you should be on social media, you just don’t know how to do it. You can’t ignore social media because those conversations are going to happen with or without you. You don’t have the time to comment and be in a bunch of chat rooms. You don’t have 40 hours a week to start creating content. That’s okay!
The trick is to consistently bring value. You don’t have to be good on camera, you don’t have to be an expert. If you’re good at writing, then create a blog, and your Facebook live can be you reading your blog. Once you get this right you can leverage an hour of your time and you’ll get dozens of leads every month!
