We are going to start out with one of the biggest killer thoughts- “ I don’t have ‘X’ so I can’t succeed.” Mike has heard every excuse there is, from ‘I don’t have enough money’, to ‘There aren’t any good workers in my town’, all the way to things such as “I can’t grow because of this other, larger company” The fact of the matter is that if you allow yourself to believe such things than they will come true. Your brain is a powerful vessel, and if you convince it of certain circumstances they will come to fruition. Mindset is one of the most important parts of being an entrepreneur. You should be willing to do anything that is legal, ethical and moral to help your business grow. You may have heard Mike talk about this before, but there are ‘3 C’s’. Get a clear mind, be committed, and Choose to believe anything you need to help grow your company. As an example before we move on, instead of thinking ‘I need $5,000 to bring my company to the next level,’ you would want to replace that thought with ‘What do I have to do to get $5,000 that I need”. A lot of people think that there is some sort of secret formula but in reality, hard work and dedication spent toward your clear goals is what’s really going to help you grow.

Another issue that many people face is misinformation. As Mike puts it, go on an ‘information diet’. Knowing what information is important, and what should be dealt with when is a huge step to growing your company. Mike has seen tons of people get information from people who aren’t great sources and it always bites them back. It can be difficult to decipher who can actually be helpful to you, so what Mike does is take a look at the results they’re trying to sell you to see if they have accomplished what they’re saying they can help you accomplish. You wouldn’t want to get trained by someone who isn’t in shape just like you wouldn’t want to take business advice from someone who hasn’t grown their own company.
