Today is a special episode with guest Kai Adlerent! Kai has been in business for over 30 years, and he was a fire restoration contractor, who focused on things like interior smoke damage, mold, mildew, or water damage etc, and through that, he familiarised himself with the systems and processes behind the scenes. Kai has begun multiple startups in his time and knows just how essential having a strong structure while starting your business can be. One of the great things about cleaning nation is how hardworking everyone is, unfortunately, a side effect of the strong work ethic can sometimes tend to make people forget to focus on their mindset, When Mike was younger, he just wanted to know what steps he had to take to level up his business, when in reality having the knowledge on how to do something doesn’t mean anything if you’re not committed enough to follow through with it.
When Kai first started looking for help he found a business coach who helped clearly show him what his purpose was, and once he saw that he became more and more motivated. When the coach started to take notice of this, his first question to Kai was ‘What time do you go to bed at night?’ and all Kai could think was ‘What kind of a question is that? Give me something more exciting!’ But over the course of the next few weeks, Kai began to evaluate his routine and started developing processes to help him plan out his days better. He started spending his night preparing for the upcoming morning, and when the morning did roll around he would look at what his day entailed and he could now decide how he wanted his day to be.
One of the most often overlooked concepts that Mike and Kai have noticed is people forgetting to be grateful. Something as small as creating a list of all of the things you are grateful for is a great way to remind yourself of the good in life, and help reset your mindset. It can help you not only with your own mindset, but you will find yourself treating others differently as well. Another great exercise is to reach out and send love to three people who are bothering you. It’s great to be able to let go, and you’ll find that oftentimes you can actually start to get along with people you never thought possible with. The last exercise we are going to cover is writing down your goals at night before you go to sleep. Kai actually writes down his goals with both his left and right hand to connect both sides of his brain! If you start using mental exercises and really pushing to better yourself, you’ll find yourself being more productive and reaching goals you never thought you could reach before in no time.
