Today, Mike introduces GMCC’s Enrollment Coach, Lou! Mike asks Lou to share what big thing, or big THINGS, people need to have to grow their cleaning company. Lou talks with Mike about what he finds is the number one killer to growth, and when he knows “YES, we can help this person!’ and knows someone is ready to grow. Ultimately, Lou says it is someone’s coachability, commitment & decisiveness, and resourcefulness that separates those who stay stuck, and those who accomplish their goals to grow.
The Big Killer to Growth
The biggest thing that Lou hears from people is that they’ve lost hope. They feel stuck. They feel like they are doing everything they can, everything they know how to do, and things aren’t working. Things aren’t going the way they want them to go, and they just don’t know what to do. Lou says that many times cleaning company owners ‘don’t know what they don’t know.’
They may be working hard, and trying everything they KNOW to improve things with their business, but the issue is that they don’t realize they should be doing the things they don’t know they should be doing. And at that point, people either choose to stay with what they are comfortable with, or step outside their knowledge base and learn to do things differently. Once people realize there are systems, and a mindset element and they become aware of where they are going wrong, it’s amazing to see people become inspired and get excited about their business again!
The Ones Who Grow
On the flip side, Lou hears from people who really believe that they CAN be successful and admit they just don’t know how. They don’t know where to start, and they WANT help. Lou explains that if they are coachable, they are willing to step outside their comfort zone and try something new. They put their trust in someone who knows what they are doing (and has plenty of success stories proving this) and just go for it.
These people also tend to be all-in and 100% committed. They are sick of working seven days a week, 60 to 80 hours a week, week after week, month after month. They want things to change and they’re ready to do whatever it takes to get there. They are decisive, and say today is the day they are going to stop doing things the way they’ve always been doing them, and do something different so they can finally realize the original dream they had when first starting their Cleaning Company. Finally, Lou says that these people are also very resourceful. They don’t make excuses and talk about what they can or can’t do. They want it, and they figure out a way to make it happen.
So what do you do if you’ve lost hope? How do you reconnect with your dream? Yes, we have systems and processes that are available, but it’s making the decision to actually make the change that is in your hands. If you feel stuck, and you feel hopeless about your situation, today could be the day you decide to do something different, commit to making a change, and get the help you need to grow. Today, you can set aside your beliefs, your excuses, and just do something to change your situation.
