How to Get More Leads and People Through the Door in Your Cleaning Company

The biggest mistake people make when they’re starting out is thinking they need to bang down every door, walk into every store, and annoy every person they see with their cleaning business to drum up customers.

While you certainly CAN do this to build up a successful cleaning company, it is not something I really recommend for you to do. Not only is it exhausting, there are just easier ways to go about getting customers that absolutely love you.

By far my favorite marketing method is using content that is created and geared for my chosen target audience. For me, I create content such as podcasts, videos and blog posts all targeting owners of cleaning companies. For your company, you might create content around how to maintain restaurants or how a spotless clinic can lead to an increase in dental clients.

Whatever your target market is, you need to define them BEFORE you go out there and start creating content. You will want to hunt down what their pain points are, what they are looking to do, and how your cleaning company really solves all those points for them.

This is not a fast acting solution to getting customers, but overtime it will snowball and can lead into HUGE gains for you as you routinely put out content towards these people. Eventually, you will come to be seen as the leader, authority and expert when it comes to cleaning companies for your niche. You will be the “no-brainer” go to choice for your industry.

Your content will even teach your target audience exactly how to go about and buy from you specifically. An example of this could be a piece of content titied, “5 Things You Need to Know BEFORE Hiring a Cleaning Company”. In these 5 things you describe, you will be describing characteristics that your company especially excels at.

Remember, this isn’t a fast path to more leads, but overtime it will become an unstoppable asset that your competition just cannot compete against.

Customer service is first. Don’t do something you don’t love.
What’s the biggest mistake you’ve made in the cleaning business we can all learn from?.
Selling yourself short to accommodate the customers. This was a big mistake, even with believing customers always come first there is a line you shouldn’t cross.
What’s one idea cleaning nation can put into practice to improve their business or their lives immediately?
Start using technology more in your business, for example listening to podcasts while on the road. There are podcasts for everything (example, my podcast on growing a cleaning company!) and you can use that road time to fill your brain with all sorts of new skills and ideas that can improve your life.
