There are a lot of ways your company can benefit from hiring good cleaners, and today Mike is here to explain them as well as show you how you, too, can finally hire good cleaners! A lot of cleaning company owners look at the task of getting an employee hiring system in place as too much work, and this can lead to owners cleaning and halt the process of growth in your company. A lot of people find themselves throwing out all of the reasons they got into the business in the first place, and find themselves stuck with a cleaning job, rather than a cleaning company.

As always, let’s look over some of the false ideas that may be holding your business back. The first idea that we will go over, is that employees are a necessary evil. A lot of people think that life has to be miserable if you hire employees. All they can think about is if their employees are going to show up, or if they’re going to quit, and if you don’t have a system in place to keep a consistent stream of good employees, then it can make your life miserable. You need a system that attracts employees that are a core value match, and an environment that makes employees want to be a part of your community. If you have this in place you can find that employees can actually enrich your lives!

Another false idea that a lot of owners of cleaning companies share, is that there are not any hirable people in your area. Mike has coached hundreds of people from all over the world, and he has never found a market that does not have a labor pool. The reality is, that you are using an employee attraction system that isn’t working. It always comes down to your system.

Another big mistake that people frequently make, is not always hiring. Even when you have a ‘full staff’, there are always reasons to be hiring. You should always be doing things like replacing staff that’s not working out, gaining new accounts, replacing staff that quits, etc. Not having a list of back up staff can lead to frantically searching or even hiring staff that may not be a good fit just because they’re there, which can in turn push the good employees away, and you can easily fall into this cycle of not having a good team.

The last belief that we are going to focus on, is the belief that hiring and onboarding takes a ton of time. If you don’t have the foundation and system that is constantly working then it should take a little bit of time to maintain, rather than taking no time in your week, and then having to take up all of your time while you frantically try to find all these employees.
